Multiprocessor machine (dirt.cs.unc.edu) Config ----------------------------------------------- Installed Version: FreeBSD 3.1 RELEASE I installed freebsd off the net (ftp5.freebsd.org i think..not important: they're all mirrors). It went through without a hitch. Its now setup as a regular dirt machine on the 137 network (dirt.cs.unc.edu). tyagi:/usr is mounted and people can login with their topsecret pass wo rds. The other machine is identical, and i decided to leave it uninstalled so that someone else can do the installation as an exercise in familiarization. The kernel running is GENERIC with some additional options (for SMP support) turned on. Probably, this machine needs to be exercised (CPU and disk) in some way before we develop enough confidence in it to dump all our data and start relying on it as a fileserver.
