COMP 575 [136]: Introduction to Computer Graphics
(3 hours)

Course Objectives
An introduction to computer graphics for students planning not to take more advanced courses here in computer graphics (i.e. COMP 665-770-870-872 sequence).

Prerequisites
COMP 410 and elementary linear algebra (MATH 547)

Approach
Lectures, programming assignments. This course should be taken only by undergraduate students or graduate students from other than CS. CS graduate students should take COMP 665 and subsequent courses.

With permission, students may take COMP 770: Computer Graphics after COMP 575, but COMP 575 does not satisfy prerequisites for other courses that depend on COMP 665 (766, 767, 775, 787, 870, 872, 875).

The assignments should build on previous assignments so the students end up with a complete rendering program. The assignments can be done in the Venable computer lab, as they have about 30 Mac LC's with 256-color displays.
