COMP 892 (old 395) and Curricular Practical Training
Any student may enroll in COMP 892 and receive 1/2 (.5) hour academic credit
for educational experiences gained while employed outside the department.
This course is most commonly taken in one of the summer sessions.
To enroll in COMP 892 (and do CPT as well) do this:
- Obtain the Advisor Consent Form (see below) for COMP 892 and have your
advisor sign it.
This form states that the advisor agrees that the work to be done
over the summer constitutes a valuable educational experience
and will satisfy the requirements of COMP 892; further the advisor agrees
to supervise the student's progress, collect the final report (and any other
work he/she should wish to require), and forward the grade on to the
COMP 892 instructor at the end of the summer.
-
Once the form is signed, bring it to Dr. Kevin Jeffay;
Dr. Jeffay will review the materials, and give you permission to
enroll if all is in order.
-
You will then be enrolled in COMP 892 (summer session II)
by Dorothy Turner
-
You will then visit the University cashier and pay the tuition/fees required
for the course.
-
Bring your payment receipt back to Dr. Kevin Jeffay and he will sign the
application for CPT from the International Center.
You are responsible for obtaining the CPT application; we do not
keep copies in the department, nor do we know the details of
the applicable laws.
Isn't that easy? Yes it is.
