Administrative User

  1. [Monetary Transactions.  All monetary transactions are handled outside of the system, using conventional monetary and delivery mechanisms.]
  2. Initial Contact.  The Administrative User accesses the site through a special URL.  This action returns a Welcome page, including a Logon, and any non-sensitive messages to be viewed by all Administrative Users.
  3. Login.  The User supplies his/her login id. and password  After logon, the AU is presented with a Administrative Home screen/form.
  4. Administrative Home. From the Administrative Home Screen/Form the user to select one of two administrative functions:  View Users and View Content Items.  Both forms include an option for returning to the Administrative Home screen.
  5. View Users.  Most customer functions are provided from the View User form.  
  6. Search for User.  The user can search for users, using the customer's name, a customer ID, termination date, and value ranges for any customer parameters.  The result is a sequence of individual Customer Account data and appropriate messages, returned to the View User context..
  7. Add New Customer.  Adding a new user begins with searching for the "frozen account" of a user resulting from the potential customer's on-line registration process and receiving back a Customer Account form.  A new customer can then be "added" by updating the account balance and termination date and by unfreezing the account.  Upon submission, a confirmation is returned once the transaction has been completed.
  8. Delete Customer.  A customer can be deleted using the Customer Account form, obtained by the search function.  If the customer has a positive account balance, the system will print an account balance statement and notify a specified administrative e-mail address of this action so that an off-line refund can be made.  Upon submission, confirmation of the print action, e-mail notification, and account update are returned once the transaction has been completed.
  9. Update Customer Account.  A customer account can be updated by changing fields in the Customer Account form and submitting the changes.  Upon submission, a confirmation is returned once the transaction has been completed.
  10. View Content Items.  To view and modify Content Items, an Administrative User returns to the Administrative Home screen/form and selects the View Content Items option.
  11. Search for Content Item.  To view a Content Item, the Administrative User enters search criteria in a blank Content Item form and submits it.  A filled Content Item form is returned along with a message indicating success or any error conditions.  The form may indicate that multiple items were found.
  12. Step Through Content Items.  the user may step through multiple Content Items by selecting appropriate forward and backward arrows.  The system returns the specified Content Item as a filled in form and an appropriate message.
  13. Delete Content Item.  The user first searches for the desired Content Item.  The item is deleted by selecting a Delete option on the form.  Confirmation of the transaction is returned.
  14. Logout.  An Administrative user session is terminated by returning to the Administrative Home screen/form and selecting a Logout option.  Confirmation of Session termination is returned.

Content Provider User

  1. Initial Contact.  The Content Provider User accesses the site through a special URL.  This returns a Welcome page, including a Logon, and any non-sensitive messages to be viewed by all Content Provider Users.
  2. Login.  The User supplies his/her login id. and password  After logon, the AU is presented with a Content Provider Home screen/form.
  3. Add Content Item.  Upon selection of an Add Content Item option, the system returns a blank Content Item form.  The user fills in the Content Item and associate parameters.  After submission, the system returns a confirmation of the transaction and a blank Content Item form.
  4. Search for Content Item.  To view a Content Item, the Content Provider User enters search criteria in a blank Content Item form and submits it.  A filled Content Item form is returned along with a message indicating success or any error conditions.  The form may indicate that multiple items were found.
  5. Step Through Content Items.  The user may step through multiple Content Items returned by a Search action by selecting appropriate forward and backward arrows on a filled Content Item form.  The system returns the specified Content Item as a filled in form and an appropriate message.
  6. Delete Content Item.  The user first searches for the desired Content Item.  The item is deleted by selecting a Delete option on the form.  Confirmation of the transaction is returned.
  7. Logout.  An Content Provider user session is terminated by returning to the Content Provider Home screen/form and selecting a Logout option.  Confirmation of Session termination is returned.

Customer

  1. Initial Contact.  The Customer or Potential Customer accesses the site through a special URL.  This returns a Welcome page, including a Logon for Customers, an entrance for Potential Customers to view a sample of Content Items, and an option for applying to become a Customer for Potential Customers.
  2. Logon.  The Customer supplies his/her login id. and password  After logon, the user is presented with a Content Item Home screen/form.
  3. Request Cookie.  To avoid future logons, the Customer may request a cookie.
  4. Request Content Item.  The customer may request a Content Item and, optionally, specify parameters including Content Item Type.  The System returns the requested Item and/or a System Response Message.
  5. Update Personal Parameters.  Users may update personal parameters that determine selection of automatically delivered items.  A Personal Parameters form, similar to Registration From, can be requested from any of the Customer forms.  A Personal Parameters form is returned, filled in with user's current parameters.  The user may update and submit the revised data and, upon completion of the transaction, receive a confirmation and/or appropriate messages.
  6. Logout.  A user session is terminated by selecting a Logout option or by simply going to a different URL address (dormant sessions are terminated by the System through a Time Out mechanism.).  Confirmation of Session termination is returned.
  7. Visit Sample Content Items. Intended for Potential Customers, any user may select from the Welcome page the option of visiting the Sample Items page.  The Sample Items Page is returned.  There, example Content Items are displayed as well as costs and rules associated with the Service.  An Option to Register is also provided.
  8. Request Registration Form.  The user who wishes to become a Customer may begin that process by selecting a Register option from either the Welcome Page or the Sample Content Page.  A Registration From is returned. 
  9. Register as Customer.  The user completes a Registration form, including identifying information and parameters that will determine selections.  Submission results in a confirmation plus instructions for providing payment by off-line mechanisms.  (at a system level, an Account is created and marked "Frozen" as a result of this transaction.
