Ph.D. Recipients

Please call Tricia Robinson at (919) 962-1717 or email tmrobins@cs.unc.edu by May 1 to let her know whether you plan to attend the Commencement ceremonies on May 11, 2008. Please call whether you plan to attend or not. If you will be attending, the departmental hooding ceremony involves a statement by your advisor or committee chair describing the contribution of your dissertation work. We must know immediately whether you will attend so we can ensure that your advisor, your chairman, or a proxy will be ready to describe your work. In the same message, please let us know how many guests you plan to bring to the ceremony.

All Ph.D. graduates please note that the University’s Hooding Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 10 a.m. in Memorial Hall. For more information on the university’s hooding ceremony visit the following website: http://www.unc.edu/commencement/hoodinginfo.html

All graduates should meet in Sitterson 011 promptly at 12:45 p.m. Please plan to arrive on time. As you arrive in Sitterson Hall (after the University Commencement Ceremony) please deliver your doctoral hood to Professor Kevin Jeffay. It will be returned to you in your hooding ceremony.
