Summary

The IAV group meets weekly for discussion of image analysis and vision research being undertaken in our community at UNC. Topics for IAV group are mainly current research, usually not polished results. That's important, read it again. At IAV Group, people (usually but not always grad students) present their current work and current thinking, not the final results of their work. The objective is to let the community know what the current problems are and to solicit feedback and suggestions from them.

Topics of interest for IAV group include but are not limited to:

  • statistical methods for image analysis,
  • methods for computing structural descriptors of images,
  • neural network methods for simulating visual behaviors,
  • methods for comparing image descriptions against stored descriptions of prototype objects,
  • image quality measures and ways to measure them,
  • image analysis software issues
