In its April 3, 2006, issue, US News & World Report released its new graduate school rankings for 2007. The Department of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill received the following rankings:

• 22nd overall.

The department retains the ranking from 2000 of being first in the speciality area of Graphics: User Interaction.
