Current and future nine-month rates follow:

Regular ABD
AY '08-09 $16,600 $18,100
AY '09-10 $17,264 $18,764

For budget purposes out years should be calculated at 4% inflation

Summer '08 $825
Summer '09 $850

Undergraduate Students: Academic Year
Undergraduate students may work as either laboratory assistants or as research assistants. Laboratory assistants are assigned to specific courses and work under the direction of the course instructor. Research assistants work on specific research projects and work under the direction of the project's principal investigator. Undergraduate students work approximately 12-15 hours per week for approximately 15 weeks per semester. Their compensation is $2,000 per semester.

Undergraduate Students: Summer
Undergraduates may work as research assistants for specific research projects during the summer. They may work up to 40 hours per week for up to 12 weeks per summer. Their salary is $12.00 per hour. Specific work schedules are negotiated with the principal investigator.

Inflation
When budgeting for multi-year projects, the department's policy is to use a 4% annual inflation rate for all budget categories where the rate has not been established.
