Statement of Policy

1. An Affirmative Action statement will be included on all printed publications that are distributed/mailed to 200 or more recipients.
2. An Affirmative Action statement will be included in one or more appropriate places on our Web pages.
3. An Affirmative Action statement must be included in our advertisements for faculty/staff recruiting.

Implementation
The Statement will appear, at minimum, in the following printed publications:

• Department Brochure
• Admissions Brochure
• Admissions Poster

The Statement will appear, at minimum, on the following Web pages:

• Joining our Department
• Admissions Requirements and How to Apply

The Publications Manager will make the final determination on what files and where in a document the statement should be placed, should a question arise.

UNC Policies
The UNC-Chapel Hill Publications Office indicated in June 1996 that the only directive concerning the statement requires its inclusion in academic catalogs published by the 16 campuses in the UNC System and the institutional viewbook published by the UNC-Chapel Hill Undergraduate Admissions. A shortened version will suffice for other publications.
