Statement of Practice

1. The Department Brochure, Admissions Poster, and Admissions Brochure will list the regular and adjunct faculty separately.

Admissions Poster
It serves our purposes to separate adjunct from regular faculty in certain publications, in order that applicants may more easily view a list of the regular full-time faculty.

Web Pages
Regular and Adjunct faculty entries are combined on the Web because the file built is an alphabetical index of the faculty. The official rank is included in each entry, so one can discern adjunct and regular faculty. The file has the valuable property that every member of the faculty is listed in alphabetical order.

There is another, separate listing of faculty on the Web in the same directory and accessible from the same page that organizes faculty by rank which does separate adjunct from regular faculty.

Therefore, there appears to be nothing gained and some confusion to be sown by separating the adjunct faculty in the alphabetical listing.
