Faculty Lists: Who and Where

Statement of Policy

All department publications will list all faculty members (including lecturers) under the heading "The Faculty."
Emeritus faculty members are included on the department's Web pages and in its printed publications.
Starting and ending dates, as well as leave dates, will be included in faculty listings on the Web and in all printed publications, when known.

Emeritus faculty
Emeritus faculty are included on all Web page faculty lists and in printed publications. As a general rule, only name, title, and terminal degree are listed. However, if an emeritus faculty member has returned to the department to conduct research and works with graduate students, then his/her research interests, publications, and other standard information should also be included. Evaluated on a case-by-case basis with the Department Chairman.

Truth in advertising
Web pages and printed publications will include a statement regarding:

ending dates, for fixed-term appointments or for those who will be leaving our employ;
leave dates*

to ensure that prospective students are not misled. If a question arises, the Publications Manager will ask the Department Chairman to make the final determination.

*Leave dates will be provided for all faculty on full time research leaves or off-campus assignments. If the leave is only part time and people may expect to find the faculty member in the building at times during the course of a week, it will not be listed.
