Publications: Listing in Department Newsletter
Statement of Practice
- The Publications staff will solicit citations for recent and upcoming
publications from department personnel to include in the department
newsletter, News & Notes.
- The Publications staff will follow prescribed guidelines in order
to ensure consistency in how publications are listed in the
department newsletter.
Soliciting Publications
The Publications staff will solicit citations for recent and upcoming
publications from department personnel twice a year, when
requesting information for the department's newsletter, News
& Notes. Department personnel may also submit information
at any other time to the Publications staff and it will be included
in the next issue of News & Notes.
How to list Publications
Due to space constraints, a publication will appear only in one issue
of News & Notes. When listing publications in News &
Notes, the Publications staff will give priority to those publications
that have already appeared and for which a full citation exists.
Publications that have not yet appeared in print will be listed as
space permits. Those that are to appear in conference proceedings
will be listed in the next issue without further consultation
with the author who submitted the information. Those that are
to appear as books or in journals will be listed in the next issue
only after the Publications staff has consulted with the
author/submitter to determine whether he or she prefers to have
the publication listed in advance or after it has appeared
in print, when a full citation can be given.
Guidelines written by the Publications Specialist, with input
and approval by the Publications Director, adopted on
26 April 1999.
