Members of the department meet in the Reading Room, located on the second floor of Sitterson Hall, to study and discuss research. The room contains a variety of books and journals related to the field of computer science, proceedings from major computer conferences, Ph.D. dissertations, and technical reports. There is a notebook for people to sign when they wish to borrow books, and a shelf for reserved readings for classes. The Reading Room also houses a bust of Frederick P. Brooks Jr., the department's founder.
