AFS Windows Client Installation
Instructions for installing the AFS client and KFW on Windows.

Follow the steps below to install the AFS client and KFW (Kerberos for Windows) on your Windows system. Once you have completed the installation, click here for instructions for configuring KFW and OpenAFS for use in the CS realm.. If you experience problems, send email to help@cs.unc.edu.
Browse to \\compsvc-cs\Public Software distribution\KFW and look for the file named: KFW 3-2-2.msi.
Double click on KFW 3-2-2.msi.
If prompted, click on "Run" to allow Windows to proceed with the installation.
Click "Next."
Select "I accept the terms in the License Agreement," then click "Next."
Select "Custom," then click "Next."
Click "Next."
Click "Next."
Click "Install."
Click "Finish."
After the KFW install is complete, browse back to \\compsvc-cs\Public Software distribution\KFW and locate the file named "krb5.ini."
You will need to copy krb5.ini to c:\windows, replace the exiting krb5.ini, confirming that you wish to replace the file.
Go to start-> all programs -> Kerberos for windows -> Network Identity manager
You will see a cube icon in system tray.
Right click Network Identity Manager and click show network identity manager window.
This confirms that you have tokens within the cs.unc.edu realm.
Browse back to \\compsvc-cs\Public Software distribution\KFW and locate the file named "openafs-en_US-1-5-55.msi."
Double click on "openafs-en_US-1-5-55.msi" to begin installing OpenAFS.
Click "Run" when prompted.
Click "Next."
Click "I accept the terms in the License Agreement," then "Next."

If you have a previous version of the Open AFS client installed (highly likely), you will be prompted to uninstall the old version.
Click "Confirm."
Choose "Custom," then "Next."

Click "Next."

Change the 'Default Cell' to cs.unc.edu.
Click "Next."
Click "Next."

Click "Install."

Click "Finish."

Reboot your system.
