Access codes:
Dial 9 Outside line
Dial 0 UNC Operator
Dial 9+0 Operator
Dial 1600 Voice Mail
Dial 1700 Auto attendant
Dial 1702 Console operator
To make a call:
Dial 9+area code+number Note: area code required for local and long distance calls.
Last number redial:
Lift handset, dial 589
Transfer:
Flash, hear special dial tone, dial extension, Announce call, hang up
If extension is busy or does not answer, flash and return to calling party.
Consultation:
Flash, hear special dial tone, dial extension, wait for answer.
When consulted party hangs up you are automatically reconnected to caller.
Conference (6-way):
Flash, hear special dial tone, dial extension or outside number, announce conference, Flash.
Repeat steps to add additional parties.
Hold:
Flash, hear special tone, dial #4, hang up.
To retrieve - Lift handset.
Recall 60 seconds.
Park:
Flash, dial 571, hang up. (Call is parked on your extension)
To Retrieve - Lift handset and dial 572+extension where call is parked.
Recall 90 seconds.
Ring again:
Dial extension, hear busy signal, Flash, dial 51, hear a regular dial tone, hang up.
When called extension is free, your telephone will ring in short bursts.
Lift handset, hear called telephone ring.
To cancel - Lift handset, dial 52, hang up.
Call forward:
To Activate - Lift handset, dial #1 + extension where calls are to be forwarded, hang up.
To Cancel - Lift handset, dial #1, Hang up.
Reminder tone: If active, you will hear a beeping dial tone when handset if lifted. If you would like to have call forward enabled for external numbers or your cell phone, send an email to help@cs.unc.edu
Call waiting:
Hear 2 beeps while talking. Flash to answer waiting call.
Flash to alternate between callers.
Station speed:
To Program - Lift handset, dial #2 + code (), dial number, hang up.
To Dial - Lift handset, dial #3 + code().
