Biography

Kye S. Hedlund is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received a B.A. in 1975 from Boston University, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Purdue University in 1979 and 1982, respectively. He joined the faculty at UNC-Chapel Hill in 1982. Dr. Hedlund's research interests include computer-aided design, computer architecture, algorithm design and analysis, and parallel processing. He is applying some of these research interests in the areas of biodiversity and ant taxonomy.
