Medical Robotics

Robotics has made significant impacts in medicine, transportation, defense, and entertainment, in addition to manufacturing and automation. New medical robots and algorithms are enabling physicians to perform more delicate surgical procedures with greater precision and accuracy.

Robot algorithms are now developed to plan motions for autonomous vehicles, to aimate digital characters in virtual environments, to design mechanical parts and complex structures using virtual prototyping, to pick up and dispose dangerous materials on the field, to perform search and rescue operations, and to find minimal energy configuration for molecular docking in drug design.
