Protein Matching
Can you identify these proteins by matching their three dimensional structures? One of the most important puzzles in all of science is to determine how the sequence of amino acids that form a protein folds into its 3D structure, since its structure determines its function. In courses ranging from first-year seminars (COMP 065: Folding from Paper to Proteins) to undergraduate (COMP 575: Introduction to Computer Graphics) to graduate level (COMP 650: Computational Geometry) and independent research projects, we develop ways for computers to deal with shape, space, and structure.
