ABI: Exon Splice Pattern Characterization of the Whole mRNA Transcriptome

Abstract
Prof. Prins will perform the following duties on this subcontract to the University of Kentucky: Collaborate on algorithm development for the detection of splices from Solexa tags, construction of Alternative Splicing Graphs (ASG) from splices detected under different conditions, and analysis of ASGs. Adaptation of methods for large scale analysis using parallel supercomputers. In particular, use will be made of the NIH-sponsored BASS supercomputer at UNC Chapel Hill for data collected as part of this proposal. Software implementation and dissemination of the algorithms for use on Solexa-generated data via source code and web-based access of the algorithms for use on Solexa generated data. Participation in all NSF mandated research reports.
