Abstract
We explore the use of visual simultaneous localization and mapping for navigation of spacecrafts in proximity operations. The challenges to overcome are the presence of mainly specular reflective materials, which challenges visual tracking and 3D reconstruction. We explored the use of primitive based reconstructions to overcome these challenges.
