Respiratory Motion-Reduced Cone-Beam CT Guidance of Radiotherapy in Lung & Liver

    Principal Investigator: Stephen Pizer

    Abstract
The project's overal goal is to improve the quality of cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images to guide patient positioning in radiation treatment. We propose to develop new methods and software tools to reduce CBCT image blur and distortion caused by breathing motion. The effectiveness of these methods will be evaluated in images of patients receiving radiation treatment for lung cancer and liver metastases.
