Outdoor acoustics simulation, i.e., computer modeling of outdoor sound propagation, plays a vital role in determining the vulnerability of battleeld resources in urban and outdoor warfare scenarios. Different applications require high performance and support for handling dynamic environments, so as to be eective when deployed in the eld. Our goal is to develop the appropriate outdoor acoustics simulation technology that can meet these stringent requirements. In addition to battlefield and security applications such as tactical planning and sensor optimization, ecient outdoor acoustics prediction is also needed for many commercial applications: it can be used to reduce the noise prole of airplanes, aid architects in reducing the impact of outdoor noise in their constructions, and help city planners and industrial operators in complying with noise level regulations. We propose to perform preliminary research on a novel approach that combines the strengths of different acoustics prediction algorithms, using a multi-domain acoustic transfer (MDAT) approach. We will evaluate their performance on outdoor scenes.
