    Undergraduate Studies Committee (UGS)

    The Undergraduate Studies Committee serves as academic advisors for students in the Computer Science Options of the Curriculum in Mathematical Sciences and the Curriculum in Applied Sciences. The Chair of this committee is the department's Director of Undergraduate Studies. This committee serves as the department's liaison to the Curriculum faculty.

    The Director of Undergraduate Studies is the focal point for administrative tasks such as reviewing external courses for their appropriateness for transfer credit, arranging certain independent study courses and the Practicum course, identifying Honors candidates and administering the Honors Oral exams, and advising interested parents and students who contact the department, mainly in Spring semester.

    Faculty who have taught undergraduate courses in the last 2 years are likely prospects for this committee.

    An undergraduate student will be invited to join this committee for policy discussions, if any are planned.
