Installing the New HP Plotter
![]()
Installing the new HP Plotter requires 2 steps.
1. Mapping a drive to the printer drivers which are located here: \\compsvc-cs\Public Software distribution\HP Printer,Dell printer, HP Scanner, and Xerox printer Drivers\HPDesignJet1055CMPlus or copying the files to your local machine.
2. Adding the printer via the "Add Printer Wizard"
Step 1:
Obtaining the printer drivers.
Option #1
To map a network drive to the printer drivers, start by right clicking on the My Computer icon located either in the Start Menu or on your Desktop.
Select "Map Network Drive.." from the menu.
Choose a drive letter. We suggest that you pick a letter somewhere past M in the alphabet to avoid conflicts with AFS drive mappings. The actual letter is not important as long as you remember your choice.
Copy and paste the following in the "Folder:" field:
\\compsvc-cs\Public Software distribution\HP Printer,Dell printer, HP Scanner, and Xerox printer Drivers\HPDesignJet1055CMPlus
Click the "Finish" button.
Remember the drive letter assigned to this drive, since we will need it for Step 2.
Option #2
If you wish to copy the printer drivers locally instead of mapping a network drive, start by clicking on the Start Menu and choosing "Run..."
Paste the following into the "Open:" field:
\\compsvc-cs\Public Software distribution\HP Printer,Dell printer, HP Scanner, and Xerox printer Drivers
Click on "OK" or hit the Enter key on your keyboard
Find the folder labled "HPDesignJet1055CMPlus" and copy it to a known location on your machine (e.g. your desktop, D: drive or other handy spot)
