Student Travel Grants
The U.S. National Science Foundation has made funding available for providing
travel grants to students who wish to attend RTSS. If you wish to apply for
one of these grants (and you are encouraged to do so!), send email to
Jim
Anderson. Your application should include a brief explanation of why
support is needed. These grants will be awarded based on the following
criteria. (Your application should address any and all that apply.)
- The applicant must be a current student at a recognized
U.S. institution of higher education. (Unfortunately, NSF cannot support
students at non-U.S. institutions.) Your application should mention this.
(In particular, please indicate your homepage, if you have one.)
- Applicants who have no other means (or very limited means) of supporting
their trip to the conference are strongly encourage to apply, and will be given
top priority for funding.
- Students who are presenting their work at the symposium, the WIP session,
or one of the workshops are encouraged to apply.
- Students from under-represented groups are encouraged to apply.
- Students from under-represented states or institutions are encouraged to
apply.
These grants will be awarded as applications are received, so
the earlier you apply, the better.
FINAL NOTE: To help us optimize the task of distributing the money,
please indicate in your application how much support you are seeking.
