Quick start guide to setting up OpenGL for Python on Windows

These are step-by-step instructions are for quickly installing Python, PyOpenGL, and additional libraries for the examples we will use in class. These instructions are for Python 2.4. For different versions these instructions may not work. You may already have some of these components installed on your system.

Install GLUT:
Download GLUT from here.
Add the path to glut32.dll on the environment path variable.
    (Look under Control Panel > System > Advanced > Environment Variables.)

Install Python 2.4:
Use the installer found here.

Install Numpy for Python 2.4
Use the installer found here.

Install Python Image Library for Python 2.4:
Use the installer found here.

Install PyOpenGL:
Use the installer found here.
