Research

I am a member of the Effective Virtual Environments research group, and a tools engineering intern at Emergent Game Technologies. My current interests lie in user identification and behavior inference within interactive simulations such as virtual environments.

I was team lead for the 2007-2008 academic year, the systems lead for the 2004 locomotion user study, and wrote the current version of our Pit demo. As part of this work, I contributed heavily to the EVEIL engine, a series of libraries which integrate with the Wild Magic 3 graphics engine to simplify the creation of immersive virtual environments. I also wrote the drivers for VRPN to support the Crossbow RGA300 accelerometer and X-Keys input devices, as well as generic (if low-level) USB HID support under Windows.

As part of a forthcoming group research project, EVEIL has been extended to target the Gamebryo renderer.

Teaching

I taught COMP 380, Computers and Society, in the summer of 2007. The course web page has been archived and is no longer available.
