I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hil for both undergraduate and graduate study. I earned a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science with honors and a minor in Mathematics in December of 2010. I'm currently working on my Masters of Science and expect to graduate in May of 2012
I'm currently working with a team of professors and graduate students at UNC to test and revise the Linux implementation of RAPID, a packet scale congestion protocol for ultra-high speed networks.
As a course project for Operating Systems, I altered the Deadline I/O scheduler in the Linux kernel to improve performance when used with a solid state drive. I evaluated this scheduler agains several other schedulers.
I interned at IBM in Research Triangle Park working on WebSphere Application Server. I fixed automated test cases and implemented changes to an additional testing framework.
I was an Extreme Blue intern in San Jose working at Almaden Research Center. I worked with a small team to develop and implement a visualization SDK for a spherical display and touch screen interface.
