In May the CSSA yearly awards two professors for excellence in teaching. The recipients are nominated by students or faculty members, and then chosen by a student committee. The committee considers comments in the CSSA Department Review pages and other criteria. Recipients are limited to one award every two years. The awards are chosen at the end of the spring semester and cover classes covered in that semester and the preceding fall semester. Recipients limited to one award every two years. (The awards do not have to be for different semesters.)

In May the Computer Science student body recognizes two professors for their excellence in teaching with teaching awards. The recipients are nominated by students and then chosen by a student committee. The committee also considers comments in the CSSA Department Review pages. The awards are chosen at the end of the spring semester and cover classes taught in that semester and the preceding fall semester.
Nominations should include an explanation of the faculty member's excellent teaching; for example, enthusiasm, class preparation, subject knowledge, and results.
Each Recipient is limited to at most one award every two years. Dr. Anselmo Lastra and Dr. Jack Snoeyink are the reward recipients in the past two years.
