Deepak's Demonstration Worlds in Alice

I have been working on putting together a demonstration using the Alice authoring tool, meant for rapid prototyping of 3D worlds.  You may view these demo worlds using the Alice plugin for IE or Netscape.

The background information on these demos, explanation of the theme and the layout of keys are on this page. Read this now if this is your first visit here.

Notes:

  1. Demo 5 (NEW!) has collision detection in the cave worlds functional for the first time (and the arrow visibility bug is licked, too!).

  2.
  3. TunnelCollide is an early effort, it doesn't even have the virtual human but only a bunny, with a restricted set of controls.  It is here to show what the absence of  automated viewpoint control does, and also to show the genesis of the lighting idea.  Its collision detection, based on RespondToCollisionWith, is strong enough to always avert the collision.

The Demos:

Demo 5 (new): Demo 0 with CollDetect=YES and bug fix !!!

Demo 0: Cave Explorer, WalkAnim = YES, intelligent lighting = YES, AutoViewCntl = YES, CollDetect=NO
Demo 1: Cave Explorer, WalkAnim = NO, intelligent lighting = YES, AutoViewCntl = YES, CollDetect=NO
Demo 2: Cave Explorer, WalkAnim = NO, intelligent lighting = NO, AutoViewCntl = YES, CollDetect=NO
Demo 3: Cave Explorer, WalkAnim = YES, intelligent lighting = NO, AutoViewCntl = YES, CollDetect=NO
Demo 4: Tunnel Collide, WalkAnim = NO, intelligent lighting = YES, AutoViewCntl = NO, CollDetect=YES

Demos 0-3 and 5 are between 640 and 650 KB, and demo 4 is 359 KB.

I, Deepak Bandyopadhyay eagerly await your comments on these demos and reports on any bugs you find...
