Lab Hours for LA's*
Comp 14 Class,
You must come to the labs during lab hours for
correctness grading of your programs. You may come the night before
a program is due, but beware of the following:
1) The labs will be very busy and they close at 11pm...There
is not much that we can do for you after 11pm if your program is not yet
graded. However, this should never be a problem, because...
2) If you have your program graded EARLY, then you
will receive 5% extra on your program. This means that the maximum
score for each program is 105, except for the first assignment. Note
that EARLY, in this sense, means that you must turn in your program at
the beginning of the class BEFORE the class that it is due. A program
that is due on Thursday must be graded no later than Monday night and turned
in during class on Tuesday. For a program that is due on Tuesday,
it must be graded no later than Wednesday night and turned in during
class on the preceding Thursday.
Again, we cannot stress the importance of getting
started on these assignments early and spreading out your time in the labs.
There are a limited number of LA's, and we must limit our assistance to
10 minutes at a time when there are people waiting. In my past experience
as an LA for Comp 14, we have had to turn away several people at the end
of the night because they did not start early enough or they waited until
the last minutes to come to the lab.
Thanks,
Jeff McLamb
