Me, on Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park.

About Me

I'm currently attending UNC-Chapel Hill and part of the CISMM group, led by Dr. Russell Taylor. I enjoy working with computer graphics in general and its applications to the life sciences in particular. Put more clearly, I have a vested interest in producing innovative scientific visualization and analysis methods and tools. After all, it's not just computer nerds like myself who like to look at pretty pictures.

I received a BS and MS in computer science in the Summer of 2006 from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL (north of Chicago). I spent a good portion of that time toiling under the wiles of Dr. Bruce Gooch. It was during this time that I studied miscellaneous perceptually motivated graphics tasks including the analysis of shape cues in moving objects, single-image reconstruction for architectural scenes, and digital image forensics (forgery detection, specifically).

The picture you see here is me at the top of Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park, Washington. My wife and I visited there, along with Tofino and Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, for our honeymoon.
