Our first midterm will be Wednesday 26 September. The exam will cover everything except functions. Readings, assignments, and lectures are all potential sources for questions. You may use your notes, the book, the class web site, and the Pylab command prompt but nothing else. Of course, on your honor, you may not get help from anyone besides me. You may not discuss the exam with anyone except me on the 26th.

The exam will be online using Sakai. The exam will become available at 9am on the 26th and will be available until 9pm. It will not be timed but I will design it to take about 50 minutes.

You may take it wherever you wish. Class will not formally meet. I'll be available in our classroom from 10 to 10:50 and all morning by email but after noon my availability will be reduced. I will not be available for questions after 5pm.

Here is an old exam for your viewing pleasure. Your exam will have to be different because of the difference in venue and format but this will give you an idea of the sorts of things you might be asked.
