Help - Smart Moves

It is important that you register your purchase with IBM, in order to obtain the latest updates. The registration program asks you for your name, address, phone number, and other information.  The virus checker can detect and remove over 6,800 strains of viruses. Unless you change its settings, the program will scan your hard disk weekly for viruses. Diskettes are checked when you try to copy files from them. Finally, each executable file is scanned for viruses before the file runs.

Be sure to register your IBM AntiVirus software using the reply card that came with your computer. This will allow you the opportunity to receive updated files that include detection information for the latest viruses. You can also download some updates from the internet: http://www.av.ibm.com/

The 'Aptiva Diagnostics and Utilities' CD-ROM contains a version of IBM AntiVirus you can run after restarting your computer from this 'bootable' CD-ROM. You can also create a bootable diskette version using the SETUP program located in the C:\IBMAV95 directory.
