IBM HELPWARE SUPPORTYou can connect your computer (at no charge, for one year after purchase) to the IBM HelpCenter's computer to find out if there are software updates available for your particular machine. They will be automatically installed on your Aptiva for you, for free! To start, click on IBM UPDATE CONNECTOR.You can receive free marketing and technical information on many topics, by fax. Call the automated fax system at 1-800-426-3395 (in Canada, 1-800-465-3299), 24 hours a day. Remember, your Aptiva can receive faxes (for help setting up your fax software, click on FAX SETUP). See your HelpWare booklet for more Aptiva service and support options. Be sure to check out the support services available from the major online services (for help on connecting to an online service, click on ONLINE SERVICES). You'll also find help at the Aptiva home page on the World Wide Web, at http://www.pc.ibm.com/aptiva/ (for help on connecting to the Internet, click on WORLD WIDE WEB). Before you call IBM Support, be sure you've tried to resolve your problem using the resources found earlier in the Aptiva Helper (SMART MOVES, UP AND RUNNING, QUESTIONS, and DIAGNOSTICS). The Support representative may ask you for the results of the Easy Test Diagnostics program. Also be sure you've REGISTERED before calling. The Support line is free for warrantied problems. If you have a 'how-to' question, you may be charged a fee. A good time to call is before 5pm EST, when your hold time may be shorter. If you still cannot resolve your concerns after following the suggested series of steps in this program, call the IBM Support line at 1-800-772-2227 (in Canada, 1-800-565-3344), 24 hours a day. |
