Genus Alloformica (Formicinae)

. Type species: Formica aberrans Mayr, by original designation.
- OVERVIEW.
The three species of Alloformica are known only from their type localities and a few other locations. However, they are the dominant ants in the herbaceous steppe on the foothills of the Zeravhonkig Mountains in Tadzhikistan. They are important pollinators visiting flowers for nectar (Agosti, 1994b).
