Genus Bajcaridris (Formicinae)

- OVERVIEW.
This genus contains three species that are rarely collected. They are found either in the oueds of the northern Sahara in Algeria or in the meadows of the mountains of the Atlas in Morocco. Where they are found, they are among the dominant ant species. They nest in the soil either under stones or with a distinct crater shaped nest entrance (Agosti, 1994b).
