Genus Petalomyrmex (Formicinae)

- OVERVIEW.
The one species in this genus is found in Africa. It nests in the stems of the host plant Leonardoxa africana and protects it from herbivores (Snelling, 1979b: 7). It is rarely collected (Agosti, 1991: 293).
- ZOOGEOGRAPHICAL REGIONS. Afrotopical.
- TRIBE. Plagiolepidini.
