Experiment with procedural shading. Due Tuesday, October 31 at 11:00 AM. This assignment is very open-ended. You should exercise your creativity on procedural shading. Examples of last year's entries are on a poster outside my office (SN256) and in the COMP238 Fall 1999 Shader Gallery.
This assignment will be judged by a panel of experts and a single prize awarded to the entry exhibiting the most technical merit. You do not have to use RenderMan, but quality of the image is a big issue, so I'd suggest that you use a high-quality renderer.
Please make a single-page color hardcopy handout for the judges (hardcopy will enable you to control the look of the images). You should also include a single-page text description of what you did.
You can include a pointer to a web page also, if you want to provide more images or information for me, but the panel may not have time to look at this.
