The Software Engineer (Common Infrastructure) will work with a small, dynamic team of engineers to help implement the next-generation infrastructure underpinning the RSA DLP Suite. This infrastructure will make use of standards-based, cross-platform technologies to glue together the management and monitoring capabilities of the DLP Suite in a seamless and efficient manner.

We are looking for well-rounded engineers with a passion for writing robust, high-performance server-side code and tackling hard problems of scale and high data volume. Candidates must have a strong understanding of algorithms and data structures, and be adept at object-oriented programming and design.

Major Responsibilities:

* Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle (SDLC), from gathering requirements and designing features to implementation and testing
* Help research and work on the overall design and development of new ideas and products
* Implement features from requirements
* Author functional and technical specifications
* Conduct and participate in code and design reviews
* Write unit and functional tests as part of normal development routine
* Participate in automation and extended testing efforts
* Repair and maintain existing legacy and new code
* Help develop and execute project goals; provide documentation of work done and results; review projects against goals and provide status reports.



Essential Skills/Qualifications:

We are looking for well-rounded QA engineers with a passion automating tests for server-side code and to test and measure scale and high data volume. Candidates must have deep QA experience and a strong understanding of algorithms and data structures, be experienced with object-oriented programming, and have a proven record of “getting things done.”

Major Responsibilities:

* Research, design, and implement automated test framework.
* Author test plan and test cases and execute tests.
* Conduct and participate in tests plan reviews.
* Work with Development on unit test development
* Report product defects with sufficient detail and work with Development in debugging them.
* Work closely with local and remote product management, engineering, and quality assurance teams to deliver industry-leading content-protection solutions.
* Write scripts to test scalability and performance on multiple platforms.
* Help drive effective test processes.

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

* At least 3 years in a Quality Assurance position working on an Enterprise application.
* Experience with test repositories such as QualityCenter.
* Understanding of C++ and proficiency in at least one object oriented programming language.
* Experience in testing with web services such as SOAP.
* Experience developing automation frameworks and automated tests.
* Strong system testing experience, especially scalability and performance testing.
* Strong understanding of both Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
* Experience using VMWare.
* Excellent debugging skills and problem solving ability.

Intern/Co-op Opportunity

We are looking for a co-op/intern for the Summer and Fall semesters, to work in our Chief Technology Office. The student must be a self motivated Senior or Masters level student majoring in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. The Co-op will be part of the team primarily working on proof-of-concept and prototyping projects in new and disruptive advanced technology areas related to mobile communications and multimedia.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate should have project experience (or course work project) in programming (C, C++, Java or other object oriented languages) and self motivated. The candidate should also have hand-on experience in programming and related tools. The selected candidate will be required to work with various communications protocols and develop/test applications for various OS. Any knowledge or course work in EE, Linux would be a plus.
