Job Description:
Journalistic is a publishing company, with two major focuses: QSR Magazine and Fine Books & Collections Magazine. We have 15 employees on staff, ranging from art to editors to accounting and lastly, me - the IT Manager. I keep busy with the technical efforts to support the company,from developing web applications, running reports and supporting fellow co-workers with their computer questions/problems. I'm looking for a reliable (and pliable) intern to help me out.

You will be mentored by me (and I hope to learn a thing or two from you, too) and get some really great real-world experience. You will not get any mundane tasks and your work will be appreciated. As an example, our previous interns developed e-commerce applications, plugins and internal support tools.

We're ideally looking for a Junior or Senior who will spend the year with us and there may be a full-time job for you after you graduate.

Duration of Appointment and Compensation

The appointment begins July 1, 2010, and runs for at least one year but no more than two years. The annual salary is $65,000, plus a research budget and fringe benefits including health care.

Faculty Mentor

The faculty mentor for this position is Scott A. Neslin, Albert Wesley Frey Professor of Marketing at the Tuck School. Professor Neslin is a specialist in database marketing / interactive marketing. He is co-author of the book, Database Marketing: Analyzing and Managing Customers (2008, Springer). He has published several papers in this area and is a member of the editorial boards of the leading journals in marketing. DB Global Technology (DBGT) is the newly established North America development center in Cary, North Carolina. It will be located near the Research Triangle Park (RTP) area of central North Carolina. As a subsidiary of Deutsche Bank AG, DBGT will be a dedicated application development and software engineering center for leading-edge technology solutions that power the future of global capital markets. DBGT will partner with the Deutsche Bank Group Technology and Operations division to access superior technology skills and promote innovation in the development of software applications and IT solutions.
