CS191 - Assignment 1 - Simple 2D Game

For this assignment, we had to modify a 2D game created by Aaron Kieldsing (either the Java version or the Flash version). I have modified the Java game. A more detailed description is at the bottom of the page.

Keys: Arrow keys to move the ship, SPACE to fire, A to toggle audio on/off, P to toggle plasma animation on/off

Modifications made:

• Keyboard movement of ship
• Player ship accelerates/decelerates
• Player can fire, and there is an enemy ship that fires at you
• Animation is double buffered to remove flicker
• Transparent images for ships/explosions
• Sound effects
• Animated plasma background

If the game goes slow, try playing it without the animated background; the plasma effect is not entirely optimized.
