Professional History:

• EE grad student at NC State University 1972-78.
  - learned about hardware and graphics in Prof. John Staudhammer's lab
• Founder/President of Ikonas Graphics Systems 1978-82.
  - designed the Ikonas programmable raster display system
  - managed start-up and sale to Adage
• VP of Graphics Technology, Adage Inc. 1982-85.
  - led a technology group developing application-specific graphics microcode
• Founder/President of Trancept Systems 1986-87.
  - managed start-up , VC funding, and sale to Sun Microsystems
• Director, Visualization Products, Sun Microsystems 1987-93.
  - managed graphics/imaging product development and advanced technology groups
• Joined UNC-CH 1993.
  - worked on PixelFlow project and IBR accelerator architecture
• Fall 1999 -  began off-campus assignment to develop technology at CDAT (now named 3rdTech, Inc.)

• July 2000 -  permanently switched to 3rdTech, Inc
