       Vannevar Bush,  As We May Think.  The Atlantic Monthly, July 1945. 
As World War II ended, Dr. Bush suggested that scientists should work on those instruments that would give man access to and command over the inherited knowledge of the ages.  In the piece, he introduces the concept of hypertext.
