Focus on concepts, not facts

Focus on transitions
Polish and carefully proof the first and last paragraphs
Use the active voice
When discussing history, give clear chronology
When in doubt, shorter paragraph
Avoid colloquialisms
Reference tables, graphs, pictures in the text
Spell out, identify acronyms
Punctuation:
adjective-noun noun
titles
commas (if you need to pause when reading it aloud, you need a comma)
Two forms of in-text citations: use one or the other
Single space bibliography
