Enabling OneIP for Policy Based Management
By Praveen Patnala
In this talk, I will present an overview of policy
based management and the importance of OneIP in this context. OneIP is
a cluster service which enables a set of servers to have a common IP address
to service client requests. The presence of such a cluster is made transparent
to the clients thereby enabling as many number of servers to host the same
service with the same IP address. The motivation to manage and tune OneIP
remotely, necessitates an SNMP agent to be installed in each of the servers
in the cluster. An SNMP manager can then be used to configure OneIP remotely.
