Here is the game I developed as a project for CS 551 Advanced Graphics at UVa with James Evans. We used the VDSlib simplification library that I worked on with Dave Luebke at UVa. There are many bugs (lighting on the tank, simplifying tank from the wrong eyepoint) but we made the whole thing in about 5 or 6 days at the end of the semester (with a few touches added later). Unfortunately, we got caught up in the "all your base" craze and named the game "All Your Base XTREME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!." The idea was you would have to destroy all of the other guy's bases, but no bases or other guys ever got put in. If I still had a consistent copy of all the source files, I'd change the name. Requirements: GeForce (2?) card, drivers from the last year or so. Try it; if it doesn't run you don't meet the requirements. ;) Use the run.bat file to run the game; just running game.exe won't work. There is no point to the "game." We didn't quite get that far. The controls are as follows: arrows move Interesting note: the terrain texture is actually a frog skin texture that Dave
got from Peter Lindstrom. And finally, here it is. |
