How Do I ...Below is a list of questions and answers about the HOOPScheduler software package. If you have a question about a particular topic, you can try searching this page with your browser by pressing Ctrl-F (i.e. if you want to know how to modify the team name, search for "team").
... add a new court, building or game location?If you need to add a new court, building or game location, go to the Camps page of the CampEditor and click on the Add Building/Court button. This will bring up a dialog box where you will need to enter the name of the building (i.e. Chapel Hill High) and the number of courts (i.e. 3), and it will create the new courts. In our example Chapel Hill High-1, Chapel Hill High-2 and Chapel Hill Hight-3 will be created when you click the OK button in the Add New Court dialog box.
... modify a team name, league name or league level?The team name, league name and league level fields are not editable; therefore, to change the name of a team, league or the league level, you must delete the original team, and add a new team.
... create a camp that lasts less than four days?With HOOPScheduler, it is not possible to add a camp that lasts shorter or longer than four consecutive days.
... change the court availability if the text boxes are not editable?If a session is not selected in the Sessions page, the start time and game duration for that session in the Courts page will not be editable. If a session is grayed out in the Courts page, you must first select that session as part of the camp in the Sessions page.
... change the length of a game?You can change the length of the games on any court during any session on the Courts page of CampEditor. All games in the same session and on the same court must have the same game duration.
... delete all the courts in a building?If you would like to delete all the courts in a building, you need click on the Delete Building/Court button on the Courts page. To delete a building, you must delete each court in the building individually. After you have deleted all of the courts in the building, the building will be deleted as well.
... delete a game from the schedule?If you want to delete a game from the schedule, simply remove the two teams and leagues from the game to be deleted. To something from the schedule, click twice on the text, and a selection box will appear; then select the black space from the list. Remember to remove all teams and leagues from the game or you will not be able to move on to another task.
... add a new game to the schedule?If you want to add a new game to the schedule, just fill in the two teams and the leagues from the selection boxes. To add a team or league to the schedule, click twice on the space you would like to fill, and choose the appropriate team or league from the selection box.
... check to see how many times a team plays in each building?A list of how many times each team plays in each building is displayed in the Court Distribution page of the CampEditor.
... see how many times a team plays off-campus?If you would like to see how many times a team plays off-campus, look at the "Other" column of the Court Distribution page. The other category is for all buildings that are not on campus.
... view any errors in the schedule after making manual changes?If you would like to view any changes in scheduling errors that might have resulted from manual changes to the schedule, go to the Error Report page in CampEditor and click on the Run Error Report button.
... print a schedule for the court coordinators?To print a schedule that is organized for the court coordinators, go to the Schedule Preview page of the CampEditor. To print this page, simply click the Print button.
... print schedules for each league?If you want to print a schedule of games in any particular team, select the league you would like to view from the selection box on the Schedule page. You can then print the league schedule by clicking the Print button.
... see what teams correspond to the team numbers in the Schedule?The Key page of the CampEditor will list the team numbers for each league with the team name that corresponds to each number. You can view the key for all leagues or one league at a time. You can also print this view by clicking the Print button.
