1999 has been full of surprises for us all. The weather in March in particular has been crazy. We had snow twice in March followed by a short spell of 70 degree weather. Here we see Duncan peeking around a stoic snowman. Ross was a little disturbed that the snowman didn't have a smile. I added one later.

The capricious weather was especially hard on Ross, though. Ross got a bicycle from his GMa and GPa for his birthday. The unexpected snow interfered with his plans for his first cycling lesson. Shortly after the first snow melted, it snowed again. We took the opportunity to do some sledding. Duncan wasn't very enthusiastic about the downhill part.

Finally the weather cleared for the weekend, and Ross got his first chance to ride his new bike. Penny says that Ross positively glowed when he got back from his first ride. I think that the pictures speak for themselves.
