Virtualization, SDN, and GENI offer a tremendous opportunity to develop educational material that can deeply enrich our students' experience. As a (former) student, teacher, lab developer and textbook author, I'll offer ten thoughts (and hope to get as many additional inputs from workshop attendees!) on what "works" (for students and instructors) for hands-on and lab-based experiences and on developing educational material that stands the test of time
